Tag: OptimizationSmitty @ 10:13 am

JugglerWhy should you Optimize your website?

Most of the web population uses the search engines to locate information. There are many search engines to use and they index the information differently. The main Search Engines are Google, Yahoo and Bing – they make up about 90-95% of all on-line searches. So the main reason to optimize a website is to have your website rank better than other websites in the search engines.

I have been doing SEO work for over 6 years.  The following  should give you more reasons to why you should.

My 10 reasons to Optimize:

  1. The main reason to optimize your website is for better web rankings that will in turn increase web traffic.
  2. Advertise your Products and Services so they show up where people can find them.
  3. Target Selected Keywords that you feel you audience uses to locate your web site
  4. Increased traffic should mean an increase sales (if not examine the landing page and determine what is missing).
  5. Increase Brand Recognition – get your name and products out there in front of people.
  6. Create a strong web presence.
  7. Discover how people are finding your website – Optimization helps locate the best keyword phrases to find your products or services.
  8. To create a website that search engines like – an optimized website can be indexed with higher ranking factors based on the criteria of each search engines, but most of the factors are universal.
  9. To insure that each web page is prepared for an unique keyword phrase – this allows for a broader reach for more search terms from the web audience.
  10. To make sure that your whole website is spidered and indexed for the search engines.

Look at your website -  is it ranking well? Do you get enough traffic from the web to justify the expense of having a website? We can also perform website reviews to locate issues and opportunities to market your website.

Beware of the Fake Hallmark E-card

Tag: Internet NewsSmitty @ 9:26 am

I am getting more spam and troublesome e-mails from all over. The latest one looks like a Hallmark e-mail. The problem is the long link to retrieve the card.  It points to an EXE file on another domain.

This is how the e-mail reads (this is an image of the e-mail and will not cause any problems to your computer):

Hallmark

If you do not recognize the sender or you think the e-mail is suspicious be very careful. These people are out to either steal your identity, your personal information or they just want to infect your computer with a virus, trojan or bot.
