The quickest way to get your new web site ranked
I have noticed over the years, that it takes a while to get your website found in the search engines. The mystery of how the search engines determine your ranking is frustrating and constantly changing. Most web owners have expectations of being placed in the top ten results out of millions of similar sites. Everyone should keep in mind how competitive and complicated the search engine ranking systems can be. The search engine results can change daily and there are no guarantees. It takes hard work to get listed well and more work to maintain high rankings.
So what can you do to help start the process?
The first thing to do is to select a domain name (choose a domain name wisely) and get it registered (for at least three years). The next step is to immediately get web hosting for your web site. Once you get setup with a hosting company, you must make the domain name server change to point to your new web hosting service.
Now the secret…
I seen companies take months to get a web site together. So to help the process get started, create a single web page to answer the How, What, Where, When and Why about your business. You can make the single web page as long as you wish, but I suggest to keep it to two to three screens. The single web page offers a simple but informative glimpse into your company.
Be sure to include:

- Your mission statement
- An overview your business
- Bullet points of your business products or services and the reasons why people would want to do business with you
- Include your business contact information
- You can use a graphic or two
Now a little SEO magic, select the best keyword phrase you feel will describe your business and conduct the optimization process for the web page. Be sure to have a title, description, keyword metatag and use the keyword phrase several times on your web page.
Check the page for spelling and code errors. You want the web page to be as search engine spider friendly as possible.
Once the web page is created, upload the web page and save it as your index.html - your root document.
Now the fun begins…
You need to immediately submit your website to all the major search engines. Continue to submit the web page to different search engines and directories on a regular basis (Weekly or Monthly). A single web page offers you an opportunity to get your web site into the search engine system and be found until you create the web site you desire.
