How to ruin your page ranking

Tag: Web Marketingadmin @ 12:00 pm

Below are a list of things not to do for your website.

  • automatically generated doorway pages
  • cloaking pages
  • false redirects
  • Having multiple domains pointing to the one domain
  • keyword stuffing images
  • keyword stuffing keyword metatag
  • hidden text by matching the color of the text with the color of the background
    hidden links
  • pages loaded with irrelevant words – entering hundreds of keywords at the bottom of the pages
  • duplicated content on multiple pages
  • misspelling of well-known web sites
  • unrelated and centralized link farms
  • any other methods that try to trick search engines – like entering text in CSS files
  • Some people say that these techniques will help you in a short term, but I know the long term effects will destroy your rankings.

The key is solid content and a properly formatted web page.

    Good luck

Link Research

Tag: Web Marketingadmin @ 8:27 pm

One of the things each website requires is a bit of link research. Find ways to get more qaulity incoming links can be challenging, but rewarding. Here are a few ways you can help your web page rankings:

1. The first way to get more incoming links is to submit your web site to the thousands of search engines and directories. Please note, I recommend to manually submit one directory at a time. You got to be very careful with bulk submitters. You could easily be placed the spam lists from hell! Here is the link to a list I use:

2. Start a blog off your website and post informative articles. If you are writing quality articles, other websites will link to your blog. Be sure your blog can create an RSS feed. The RSS feed will allow other website to use your blog articles to provide content for thier website – Presto – incoming links.

3. Submit well written articles to other websites. Whatever your specialty is, write articles about your business products or services and submit them to business related websites. Be sure to include you web address in the signature.

4. Contact all the businesses that you conduct business with, to form a exchange of links. This is one of the best forms of quality incoming links I feel anyone could get.

5. Add more articles on a regular basis to your website in the form of web pages. Fresh content on a regular basis are what the search engine spiders look for.

Due to the number of spammers out there, I have turned off my comments option. If you would like to post something, you can e-mail me via my contact page:
